BKI Terrorist Parminder Pindi Extradited From UAE for Crimes

Parminder Singh, widely known as Pindi, an alleged terrorist associated with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), has been extradited from the United Arab Emirates. This significant move comes as part of a larger effort by Indian authorities to tackle terrorism and organized crime. The extradition was officially confirmed on Saturday by Gaurav Yadav, the Director General of Police for Punjab.

Authorities apprehended Pindi, who has a reputation for involvement in numerous violent crimes, including petrol bomb attacks and extortion in Batala, Gurdaspur. His extradition from Abu Dhabi was a result of close collaboration between Punjab Police and central government agencies, demonstrating a coordinated effort to bring fugitives to justice.

On September 24, following the issuance of a red corner notice under the supervision of Batala police, a specialized four-member police team, led by a senior officer, traveled to the UAE. They worked diligently and liaised with the Ministry of External Affairs and relevant UAE authorities to ensure the legal process was adhered to.

Yadav emphasized the importance of this operation, stating, “After completing all legal formalities, our team successfully secured the extradition of Parminder Pindi who will now face justice in India.” His return signals a robust approach by law enforcement agencies in combatting the insidious threat posed by terrorist organizations operating from foreign soil.

Pindi is intricately linked to notorious figures such as Harwinder Singh, known as Rinda, and Happy Passia, both of whom have been subjects of police investigations due to their criminal activities. Pindi’s extradition is expected to provide valuable insights into BKI’s operations and their network within India.

This action not only reflects the commitment of Indian authorities to fight terrorism but also reinstates international cooperation in tackling cross-border crime. As investigations continue, more developments are likely to emerge regarding Pindi’s activities and affiliations.

The Punjab Police’s success in this case reinforces their capabilities in intelligence operations and extradition processes, marking a significant milestone in their ongoing efforts against organized crime and terrorism.
