This departure stems from allegations concerning the issuance of “back-dated orders” by the former Ombudsman.
Sethi, who has served on the Sub-Committee since 2021, submitted his resignation letter directly to BCCI President Mithun Manhas. His decision arrived on the heels of a Supreme Court ruling on **27 October**, which mandated the conduct of JKCA elections to take place within **12 weeks** under the observance of former Chief Election Commissioner Achal Kumar Joti.
In his resignation letter, Sethi elaborated on the troubling circumstances leading to his exit. He stated, “As the Supreme Court has directed the holding of elections for JKCA and the effort to appoint a new Ombudsman has not been sanctioned by the Election Officer, unfortunately, back-dated orders are being issued by the former Ombudsman, dating them back to March 2025. This is concerning as no such order was logged or reported to me.”

Sethi expressed serious concerns over these directives, asserting, “These orders are changing the club management and voting rights. This is an attempt to alter the voting nomenclature, which I do not wish to be a part of.”
