The Delhi Police apprehended two wanted criminals linked to foreign-based gangsters after a dramatic encounter in the Kapashera area on Friday. The suspects, Akash Rajput and Mahipal, both hailing from Rajasthan, are wanted in numerous criminal cases.
Police identified Rajput as a key figure in a series of extortion and kidnapping cases across Haryana, Gujarat, and Rajasthan. Officials confirmed that Rajput had a bounty of ₹20,000 on his head issued by Rajasthan Police.
According to police sources, “Rajput was involved in the July 2022 firing outside a hospital in Assandh, Karnal, which took place at the behest of gangster Daler Kotia. He also stands accused in a July 2025 abduction case in Gujarat, where gangster Kirit Singh Jhala demanded a staggering ₹100 crore ransom.”
Authorities revealed that Jhala recently allied with a notorious syndicate of gangsters including Rohit Godara, Goldy Brar, and Virender Charan. Similarly, Mahipal, who faced arrest during the Karnal firing incident and was later released on bail, had resumed activities within this criminal network.
During the Kapashera encounter, Rajput sustained a bullet injury to his lower body. Police swiftly transported him to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. Investigations into the extent of his criminal affiliations continue.
The police remain vigilant in their pursuit of gangsters operating in the region, emphasizing their commitment to tackling crime and ensuring public safety. With such high-profile arrests, authorities hope to disrupt the operations of foreign-linked criminal organizations.
As this story unfolds, residents express relief over the police’s proactive measures in neutralizing threats posed by organized crime. Such operations reaffirm the police’s dedication to maintaining law and order in Delhi.
