Voters Exercising Rights Fearlessly in West Bengal: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday highlighted the remarkable shift in voter sentiment in West Bengal during the assembly elections, stating that residents are casting their votes in a “fearless atmosphere” unprecedented in the last 60 years. The assembly poll results scheduled for May 4, Modi asserted, will fortify India’s development goals.

Currently, voting is taking place in 142 constituencies across West Bengal as part of the second and final phase of polling. Addressing a gathering during the inauguration of the Ganga Expressway, Modi described this momentous occasion as a vital milestone in the festival of democracy.

“Today marks a significant day for Bengal as voters partake in the electoral process. Reports suggest a massive turnout, reminiscent of the first phase of voting. Social media is buzzing with images of long queues outside polling stations, illustrating the citizens’ enthusiasm to exercise their democratic right,” he stated.

Recognizing the shift in voter dynamics, Modi noted, “What we are witnessing in Bengal today is exceptional and something we couldn’t have imagined in the past six or seven decades. The citizens are voting without fear, a true testament to the strengthened democratic environment.”

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of this voting trend, which symbolizes the robust nature of the country’s Constitution and democracy. His remarks underline a growing awareness among Bengal residents about their rights and responsibilities in the democratic process.

“I express my heartfelt gratitude to the resilient people of Bengal for their strong participation and awareness. Their presence at polling stations showcases a commitment to democracy that the nation should celebrate,” Modi concluded.
