Jammu School Timings Changed: New Schedule Begins in October

Jammu, September 30: The Directorate of School Education Jammu has implemented new school timings for both government and private institutions across the Jammu division, effective from October. This decision aims to enhance learning outcomes and accommodate seasonal changes.

According to the recent directive, schools in the Summer Zone will operate from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. However, starting November, the schedule will adjust to 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. This phased approach allows schools to gradually adapt to the winter months.

Schools located within the Jammu Municipal Corporation limits, along with adjacent urban areas, will maintain the 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM schedule throughout the year. This exemption aims to cater to urban student’s commuting patterns and provide consistency within city limits.

In contrast, institutions within the Winter Zone will commence operations at 9:30 AM and conclude at 3:30 PM beginning October 1. This timing accommodates the colder climate experienced in these areas as winter approaches, allowing students sufficient daylight for learning.

The Directorate emphasizes compliance with the new schedules and has warned that strict actions will follow for any school opting to deviate from these timings. The changing school hours reflect a strategic approach by the education department to optimize learning conditions for students.

This update on school timings in Jammu reflects a broader trend in education administration to consider climatic and geographical factors when establishing school operational hours. Such regulations are vital for nurturing an environment conducive to effective learning. Parents and guardians should take note of the revised schedules and prepare their wards accordingly.
